Aspiration 08 14 2010

Aspiration 08 14 2010

A crow flew by

It knew what I saw

It wanted to abandon its dreadful cackling caw

The crow told me it wanted to fly like a gull

As I drove in my four wheeled metal framed hull

And try and be

What I like to see

It beat its wings in long rhythmic strokes

But quickly had to revert to its faster wing like pokes

It knew I did not bring my camera

And therefore it would first time test its wings of Gamera

She's Too Brat For Me- a rightful takeoff from the polka

She’s Too Brat For Me 07 11 2010

I don't need your wife

You may keep her strife

She's too brat for me

She's too brat for me

I don't want her

You can have her

She's too brat for me

She's too brat for me

I don't need your wife

You may keep her strife

She's too brat for me

She's too brat for me

I don't want her

You can have her

She's too brat for me

She's too brat for me

He fought for beauty in the world

Against false pretense

~

The written word in broken cursive

His best defense

~

Scribbled down on traveled streets

Smiles providing comfort

~

Glances a second to meaningful meets

~

Lights and sound from rumbling tires

Hearts of stone or burning fires?

~

Drives the wheel with knees

His words flowed with ease

Where should one say please?

~

He opens a door of chaotic solitude

Is he home?

The Deer Does Not Name the Berries 07 06 2010

The Deer Does Not Name the Berries 07 06 2010

~

Berries in the forest

I know which ones are good to eat

They are like a treasure found

As is meeting a friend of the forest

~

Some stops in the woods smell clean

Some places rotten smells lurk

Sometimes I smell and my ears perk up

Then I know which way to go

~

As I then approach

Bounding away sounds are heard

~

Brown fur then bounces up and down and away

Did my forest friends lead me to them?

Hoofs trod louder as rocks are trampled

~

As one follows the deer path

We see what the deer sees

~

The paths often wind upward on ridges

Through arrays of pines and birch

Then slope down near water

~

The heat of exertion is sometimes met by patches of cold fresh forest air

Providing renewed vigor to the journey leg back

~

The deer does not name the berries

Does it shop for favorites in its forest?

And know what will be on distant shelves today?

~

Smell, sight, taste

Memory of being shown what to eat

When it was young

The Platform Dancer

My Poem on the picture reads:

The Platform Dancer

The high fashion stepper

She's strutting her stuff

They couldn't get enough

Of her little fanny feather fluff

Green Palette

Green Palette

I can mix a shade of green, and I can make it mean.

A mean old shade of green.

I can add some yellow for the girl's who will say hello.

For the girl's who will say hello.

I can add some blue for a forest that is true.

A forest that is true.

Diplomacy

Diplomacy 01 23 2010

One hand reaches out to another and they shake.

One hand reaches out to another, how strong did they shake?

One hand reaches out to another; it shakes too strongly, the other wilts.

One hand reaches out to another, it shakes not as strong, the other ponders reason.

One hand reaches out to another, it turns away.

One hand reaches out to another again.

Government and People

GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE 01 23 2010

A fist is raised.

One voice speaks to all the rest that must conform.

The words are spoken strongly. Is the meaning as strong as the speaking we ask?

Everyone hopes this finger is pointed at them.

A camel is thread through the eye of a needle as the will of the people trods through the narrow opening of two warring factions.

Are we more easily convinced by words spoken strongly, that are able to supersede this, or by reason, the one who tried to pay attention through all the distraction asks?

If it could see and accept its own faults would it readily find the fault of the other?

Old Mr. Crow

4/21/2001

Old Mr. Crow

Old Mr. Crow,

Tell me what you know?

Old Mr. Crow,

Show me where you go

Old Mr. Crow,

What do you do about the snow?

Old Mr. Crow,

How does your time flow?

Old Mr. Crow,

Do you eat the seeds I sow?

Old Mr. Crow,

What spirit do you tow?

Old Mr. Crow,

What does your vision show?

Old Mr. Crow,

Tell me what you know?

Phaedra Dear

Phaedra Dear
Her name was Phaedra.
She had an abundance of facial hair.
She had flowers growing there.
Phaedra was her name.
She played an evil game.
Her spirit never tame.
Listen Phaedra Dear.
I’m gonna tear off your ear.
Her name was Phaedra Dear.
They once said she was queer.
She loved to fill men with fear.
Listen Phaedra Dear.
I’m gonna give you a steer.
Her name was Phae-dra.
She had an abundance of facial hair.
She had flowers growing there.
She played an evil game.
Her spirit never tame.
Can you listen Phaedra Dear,
If I’ve got your ear right here?

That recruiter he come and take a look at me

He said son your as strong as you could be

The Lucy Song 05 22 2010

The Lucy Song 05 22 2010

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Her eyes were always very far away

She never had the right words to say

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

She always tried for a sense of poise

Her voice it was like chicken noise

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

She always clung to the back of a man named Ricky

He liked to clean, spam and licky

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

She could always hear my beckon call

Lucy who denied her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

Lucille Ball

She’s denying her fall

She could never forget our day

When we were together in the hay

One day she flew up and away

The Dove Knew Better

I think it was a dove, it was a peaceful bird.

The Dove Knew Better 03 21 2010

~

I break for lunch and when I return a dove is sleeping on my table saw, in the hot summer sun, and he was content about not moving, the date is 09/16/2007

~

The dove knew better

Than the menace of vetter

The bird told me to work no more

Leave this chore

To the men of Boar

The vulgar encroaching spirit would like to bother the relaxing dove

Void the world of anothers love

This is how much faith nature has in me

No jealously in terms of who to be

There’s blood on the top of the saw the gotcha gouch thinks

That’s dry paint I reply and your brain stinks

Drive away a friend of mine the jealous eyes above a mouth that endlessly spews meanly well thought fine

Bother him until he quits at life

Do this by making him feel strife

The doves knew better

They welcomed me back in this way

They well know what I need to say

Deprive him of a friendly meeting

For him should only have grass seating

Those with envy have no trust

That’s why a nation just went bust

This dove knew all along

And waited for return of song

About Me

My photo
Welcome to my Blogs. My name is Thomas Murphy and I love the forest and wildlife areas of Wisconsin and would like to share my thoughts and the pictures I have taken of the natural areas of Wisconsin. Come share in my collection of what I feel to some of the finest scenes and images of the forests, lakes, rivers and marshes that Wisconsin has to offer. I like to go to pristine and secluded areas where nature resides quietly and I feel the resulting “lost” images are profoundly unique. I am usually “in the moment” when I take these pictures. When I say in the moment I mean a sense of excitement often precedes what my eye captures through the camera. I never stage these shots but seem to be in the right place and time when I shoot them. And when I transfer them from my camera and view them on my computer screen I realize a sense of surrealism that resonates with me yet again to the time they were taken and exemplify the beauty of nature. Please peruse my sites and experience the beauty of being there as I did. WWW.ThomasMurphy.lifepics.com
